Soccercorner.org - There is an unusual sight at the headquarters of Real Madrid, Santiago Bernabeu. Grass surface in the Spanish capital's stadium looks bright, with new grass layer.
According to a report revealed by Mundo Deportivo, the grass is a combination of natural and artificial turf, similar to the one at the headquarters of Villarreal.
The grass was imported from Milan and has a total area of 8,500 square meters. The installation process is expected to take approximately 48 hours, as reported by the club's official website.
Paul Burgess, head of field maintenance Real Madrid, said: "Substitution of grass has always been a tricky thing. But I am very confident that this new layer of grass will help us next season."
Madrid itself is in need of new innovations in all respects, along with their failure to win a trophy in the last season.
