Return to the Vicente Calderon, Luis signed a four-year contract. In the second period, he tied Atletico until June 30, 2019.
Atletico sporting director Jose Luis Caminero said: "We all are familiar with Filipe Luis. He was one of the greatest talents the world and get to know the club and our game. We believe their adaptation will be easy."
Atletico sell Luis to Chelsea for € 20 million in July 2014. Atletico did not disclose how much money they spend to sign him back this time. However, according to Transfermarkt, the transfer fee is € 16 million.
